More snow pictures

The kids had a blast playing in the snow on Friday. Makenzie went out about three or four times. Mason went out twice and cried when he had to come in. It didn't matter that he was freezing he would of stayed out there all day if we let him. Madisyn went out once and that was enough for her!!!! It was nice to get out of school early so that they could play!!!!

Vacation Cut Short

This weekend we went to the Frio River for our annual river trip with Anthony's family. This year we were going from Friday-Tuesday. On Friday I woke the kids up and got them ready to go and Mason had 100.8 so we started giving him Motrin. We had our kids and two of Anthony's cousins, Hana and Cole in the car. We left about 11:30 and stopped for lunch in Shulenberg and then got to the house at about 5:30. Mason was still hot due so we just kept pumping medicine into him. We had fried fish for dinner, played games and went to bed. On Saturday Anthony and I made breakfast. We made tatertot, meat, egg casserole and then we got all the kids ready and went to the river. Mason, Madisyn and I came up after about 2 hours so that they could take a nap. Anthony and Makenzie ended up taking a nap later also. Mason only slept about an hour. He was just not feeling good. Anthony stayed up until about 5am playing poker with his cousin and sister but I went to bed. The beds are NOT very comfortable!!!!!! That night we had fajitas and margaritas for dinner. Mason didn't sleep very well, he was very restless. Sunday morning we woke up about 9am and had pancakes. Mason was very fussy and we discovered that he had blisters (big ones) all over his tongue. Needless to say Sunday was a very LONG day. Mason was miserable but the girls had fun down at the river. Once again I went for about 2 hours and then came back up with Mason so that he could lay down for a nap although he didn't take a very long one. When we woke up this morning my FIL said that Mason didn't sleep very long at all and suggested that we go home so that we can take him to the doctor. So we packed up but when we got to the car the battery was dead so we weren't able to leave until 9:45am. We are hoping to be able to make the 2:30 appt. Makenzie was VERY upset that we were leaving and my IL's offered for them to stay but Anthony wanted us to leave as a family! So there you have it. My camera was dead for the first half of the trip but I was able to get some pictures.

UPDATE:

We took Mason to the doctor. We did make the appt. and he has mouth ulcers. We were given medicine. When I went to turn in it the pharmacist told me NOT to give it to my son that is was NOT meant for baby's so I called the doctor and he said it was fine. It helps to numb his mouth! Since it is viral there is nothing they can do except help with the comfort!

SURPRISE!!!!

No I am not pregnant!!!! Well, today I got up and went to Walmart for some groceries and then I came home and relaxed for a little bit. I took Makenzie to Full Force and then picked her up 3 hours later. Then I went to Victoria for a gathering. While we were on our way back Anthony calls and says that his brother and sister-in-law and both nephews surprised everyone and came into town. SO I got to meet my new nephew tonight. He was asleep by the time that I got there but I plan to be able to snuggle with him tomorrow! I actually can't wait!!!!

Baby Fever, NOT!

I posted yesterday that I have a new nephew well today my friend, Jackie and I went to Wharton to see another friend who had a little girl, Kate, last week. She weighed 6lbs 9oz and looked so tiny. Makenzie was 6lbs 7oz but I don't remember her being that small. I know she was because all the pictures showed it but I don't remember it!!!! Anyways, so I held her for a while and she was so sweet. When we got in the car I told Jackie you know it was nice to hold her but I SOOOOOO don't want another baby. I was kindof suprised because as my children grow up I think I really want another one but I have always wanted 3 and I have 3 and I really feel that my family is complete. I am really enjoying them grow up into great young people and watching all the activities that they enjoy doing! I was kindof happy to know that I don't really want anymore since I closed shop last year and I am glad that I don't regret it!!!!

Welcome baby Gideon

Today at 5:35ish my nephew Arthur Gideon Cortez graced us with his presence. This is the son of Anthony's brother Daniel and his wife Jeremi. He weighed a whopping 9lbs 7 oz and was 21 1/4 inches long. Jeremi has a son from a previous marriage, Jeremy who is 6. I am really excited. They are going to call him Gideon or as Makenzie says Giddy up Gideon! It is really exciting to have a new member of our family. The cool thing is that the girls and Jeremy are close in age so they play together and when Gideon gets a little older him and Mason will be able to play together. That makes it fun!

Sad day

So on Saturday I found out that a 21 year old girl that I used to coach was in a car accident and passed away. It made me think about life in general. Your life is so short and all to often we are in such a hurry ( I know that I am) that sometimes we don't stop and smell the roses. In just a matter of seconds our lives or those of loved ones could be over!!!! I went to the funeral today and it was so sad. She has a twin sister that has special needs, an older sister, and a younger brother who graduated the night before she died. As I was sitting in the pew it hit me how blessed I have been. I haven't had that kind of tragedy in my life yet! The first thing I did when I got home was hug my children and call my parents and tell them that I love them. I hope that ya'll will do the same!!!

No children well sortof!!!!

Last weekend we had two of Anthony's cousin spend the weekend so this weekend their mom did the same for us. She kept Makenzie and Madisyn all weekend, well kind of. On Friday Anthony and I went to graduation so my SIL kept Mason. We got home about 11pm and at 12 had to go pick up Madisyn because she wanted to go home. On Saturday I didn't feel well. Anthony went to his dad's house and helped him all day and I stayed home by myself. At one we went to a birthday party but I was in so much pain we came back home and he went back out there. Him and Mason were going to stay out there but at 9 I got a call that Makenzie wanted to come home so I drove over to their house and she decided to stay. They did come home at about 2 today but went out the their grandparents house to swim. We did not go to church today because I still wasn't feeling very well but am starting to feel better! Actually, I am fixing to watch Army Wives so enough for now!

Last day of school

I never cried when my kids started daycare and I really didn't cry when Makenzie started Kinder however today when I dropped her off for her last day I got very chocked up. I am not sure why I got so teary eyed but I think it is because she has grown up soooo much in a year. The things that come out of her mouth just amaze me! She is going to be graduating from high school before a blink of an eye!!!! She is such a precious kid. Makenzie, I am so proud of the child that you have become continue to give all that you have and do your best no matter what!!!!

I am so glad that school is over, however I am going to teach summer school on June 15th for 8 days. This year has been tough for me. I had to teach a self-contained class after doing resource and inclusion for 8 years. I didn't want to do it at first and a very good friend of mine said that I can do anything for a year. I did it and I am glad that I did. I will continue to do this job next year. It was a challenge but the fun thing and sometimes bad thing is that no two years are alike!!!

Next year I will only have one kiddo in day care :)!!!! BUT I will have two in school :(!!!! I can't believe Madi will be in Kinder!!!! She will do very well.

Well, I am tired and that is all I can think about for now!

Friendly Weekend

Yesterday I had a meeting in Ganado all day. Friday Anthony's cousins Cole (5) and Hana (8) came over to spend the weekend. So Anthony took all the kids out to my IL's house and they got to play and swim in the pool that they bought today.

Mason got in the pool also and had a good time.

Then I went over there afterwards and watched them play. They had a really fun time.

We stayed for a little longer and then we came home. On Sunday all the kids, Anthony, and I went to Sunday school and church. Mason is church for half the time and then after going OVER the pew for the fourth time we took him to the nursery. Then we came home and the kiddos played outside and Anthony made hamburgers. We fed everyone and then he took the kids home. It was a very fun weekend the kids really enjoyed having someone else to play with!

Memorial Day Weekend

Okay I am already slacking becuase I had planned to take pictures when I post of certain things and that hasn't happened but I am still blogging so I guess that is good!

Friday-
After school Makenzie and I picked up Madisyn and went to McDonalds to get ice cream because Makenzie had a gift certificate. We then came home and they ate while they played outside. Then our cousin Lori came over to drop off an invitation and Hana ended up staying. I took all the girls to a play at school called the Nifty Fifties. It was really cute. The kids did a great job. While we were there Anthony and Mason went to East Bernard to check out some land to see if he could shred it and got stuck. His mom had to go pull him out. When I went to drop off Hana (9) I ended up picking up Cole (5). They both spent the night. They watched Another Cinderella story. Makenzie and Cole slept in her house and Hana and Madisyn slept on the floor in the living room.

Saturday-
Anthony woke up and cooked breakfast for everyone. Our neighbors were cooking out so Anthony sat outside with them for a while. Lori came and got the kids and we went over to the neighbors and eat and then I had to come back with Mason because he needed a nap. Then we relaxed and about 4:30 we left to go the Bay where Anthony's best friend Chase has a bay house. We stayed there until about 9pm. It was alot of fun. We had hotdogs and had a good time out there. They got a new golf cart and so the kids all wanted to ride on it so that was fun. We came home and went to bed.

Sunday-
We went to Sunday School and church and then we came home and relaxed. The kids played outside and I just watched movies and played on the computer. It was a nice day.
Today at church Ms. Gloria had a children's time where she talked about a balloon being released and related it to Jesus's asscention. It was neat because about two weeks ago Makenzie had be given a balloon at a restaurant and when we got home she said can I let this go so that it can go to God. It was really a neat moment!!!!

Today-
I have spent the day cleaning. Anthony has done the mopping and cleaning and I am doing laundry. I also went through Mason's drawers and I have a bag and a half to give away. I found lots of cute clothes that I didn't know we had!!!! That was fun!

This is our weekend in a nut shell!!!

Update Thursday

I have been slacking a little bit already!

Let me see if I can remember what has happened! On Tuesday I felt a little better. Makenzie and Madisyn had Full Force and both enjoyed it. While they were at Full Force Mason and I sat and played outside and then when I went and picked up the girls we all sat outside and played. It was really nice to just relax for a little while. Mason has had a cold in his eyes but he is starting to feel better. Rebecca ( my SIL) made dinner: shake and bake porkchops, mashed potatoes, and macaroni and cheese. Mason ate a whole pork chop by himself and Makenzie ate 1 1/2 porkchops. I guess they enjoyed it.

On Wednesday I had 5 meetings planned at the elementry school from 8:30-12:30 and then I found out about 2 weeks ago that I got summoned to do jury duty in East Bernard which is about 35 minutes away. I called on Tuesday to see if it was canceled and I was told that it was still on so I was planning on going to the 8:30 meeting and then going to EB at around 9. I got out of my meeting at about 9:10 and there was a message on my cell phone that Makenzie was sick so I called my FIL and my MIL had gotten the call after they couldn't get ahold of me and so luckily they were going to be able to get her. So off to EB I go. I got there about 9:45 and selection was supposed to start at 10am and at 10:15 they said that they had settled so back to EC I went for my last meeting. Then I came back to school and had interviews until 6:30 and then out to my IL I went for dinner. We got home about 7:30 and gave the girls a bath and into the bed we all went.

Today I was supposed to have a workshop so I wasn't going to be in school and I got a phone call at 7:40 saying the workshop was cancelled so needles to say I was late to work. This evening my plan is to pick up all kids and enjoy the weather outside. Tonight our school is having a dinner theater so I am going to that with my teacher friends while either Lauren or Anthony watch the kids. Okay maybe more later!

Love,
Stephanie

Busy Monday

I woke up this morning and felt a little bit better than I did yesterday but I made sure that I took my medicine every 4 hours. I got to go to work a little later since I had a workshop but it was still a busy day. I applied to do summer school but I am only really doing to make some extra money. After the workshops I had to go back to school because I am on a committee that does hiring and we had interviews. Makenzie was supposed to have two more games but for some reason the last one got canceled so tonight was her last one and her party and then there was a cheerleading mandatory meetings. Well, I did the interviews my mother-in-law took Makenzie and Anthony grabbed the other two and took them to the game to releave my MIL. Needless to say no one made it to the cheerleading meeting. That is really hard for me but I have to set priorities and I can not be everywhere at one time!!!!! I am trying to learn two lessons: 1) to let go and ask for help and 2) to not worry!!!! Well, Makenzie had pizza for dinner and I made Maddie some Ramen noodles. We got home at 7:30 the girls got baths Maddie ate and went to bed! Now it is my turn!

Sunday!!!!

Well, I woke up today with a horrible headache and feeling like poop! I got up and got everyone ready and went to Sunday school. We are doing Fireproofing your marriage and this morning Anthony got up and went with me. Not only that but he said he wanted to go back next week. Wow!!!! Then we went to church. Madisyn sang because it is Childcare Sunday. We then went to HEB to buy weekly groceries. We came home and Anthony made chicken nuggets and french fries. I climbed into bed and didn't get back out. The kids were very good!!!!! Anthony watched them all day. We all took at 2 hour nap so I had a hard time sleeping at the end of the night but with the help of night time Sudafed I slept good all night long! Nothing big happened today.

Madisyn called my dad today and sang her songs to him it was really sweet!

Lazy Day

Well, my plan was to sleep in this morning but that didn't quite happen. I was up and about around 7:30am. Anthony cooked french toast and then we had to load limbs onto a trailer and take them out to my father-in-laws house. When we were going out to unload the limbs there were a whole bunch of cows bunched together in the pasture next door and Makenzie said, "Hey look they are having a meeting!!!"

We then went to Walmart to find some sandals for Mason because all he has are tennis shoes and those are getting too small. We had lunch and while Madisyn and Mason took a nap Makenzie and I went up to the prom to see Wesley and Meredith all dressed up. There were so many pretty dresses. Of course Makenzie was not dressed extremly nice and some of my prior athletes wanted pictures with her. Oh well!

This evening Anthony decided he was going to barbeque. While he barbequed the girls played on the trampoline and with the sprinkler. I read my book and Mason just played in the grass.

He is so trying to walk!!!!

Then it started to rain so we moved inside the screened in porch. The girls went and got a Shark Attack and we started to play that. THEN we got smoked out, so in the house we went. The girls continued to play their game while Anthony and I cooked dinner.

We had steak, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, and broccoli and rice. It has been a very relaxing day.

Love,

Stephanie

New at this

Okay-

This is my first time to do this but I thought I would try to start a blog so that I can keep some of my family informed since we don't always see them.

Update:

Makenzie and Madisyn tried out for Full Force a couple of weeks ago. Madisyn tried out for show team and made it and Makenzie tried out for competition team and made it. Then last Tuesday Makenzie was chosen as one of the flyers (the girls who go up in the stunts).

Last night Madisyn graduated from Pre K. I can not believe she is going to be in Kindergarten soon.

And last but not least Mason is walking. Okay, he takes 4-6 steps but he will be there in no time. I am trying to get that on video but don't seem to be able to get it. Hopefully soon.

The picture is from mother's day!
